INSECTS

When it comes to insect control there is a whole range of products that give either an instant or long term control. If you want to keep your building or house web free, ant free, have an issue with fabric pests like that of silver fish, moth, beetle or flies then long term control is what you are looking for. If you have a concern with a blood feeder, bedbug, flea mosquito then instant control with a long term residual process is needed. Not only do we use insecticides along with spray baits but we can also offer a solution by means of heat and cryogenics.

There is also a range of non poison traps available that work on a natural pheromone to control insects in those sensitive areas, along with a whole range of ULV fly killers. All products used by End A Pest have gone through a strict approval and testing process and are safe to use in your home and around children, pets, asthmatics, pregnant women and those who maybe super sensitive to insecticides.

All our products are backed with a category grade rating from MPI. A full copy will be left with you for your reference.

Commercial Ant Control

Thousands of dollars of damaged product is often thrown out due to clients not being educated with preventative pest control management. End A Pest are more than happy to suggest a program that not only protects your office area from annoying ants but saves you the cost and reduces the risk of contaminated product.

Domestic Ants

Many companies choose to use insecticides that repel ants from entering, while this does work It often has limited success and when the product wears off or breaks down the ants are back with vengeance. End A Pest not only uses a  repellent to give you that instant control but also uses a spray bait along your fence line and in areas where ants are likely to harbourage to give you that long term control. The downside to having ants is that they multi queen and often it is not only you but your neighbour and your neighbours neighbour that has an issue. A 12 month treatment cycle is highly recommended to keep the ants at bay and we are more than happy to call you every year as a reminder and to keep your property ant free.

Wasps – Bees

A number of people have severe allergic reactions to the sting of wasps and bees so we give the guarantee that the nest will be treated on the same day that the call is made. We do our very best to remove bees with the aid of an apiarist to safely remove the nest to a location where they wont be a nuisance or cause any harm.

Borer

Borer is one of those insect pests that can not only make the outside of your house look unsightly but can seriously damage the strength and integrity of timbers and supporting beams that hold your house together. There are a number of products that can give you long term control against borer and timber pests, our choice of chemicals is Perigen. It is  a chemical that not only meets with MPI standards but also had the backing of the NZ Forestry department. When using this process with the borer insect we need to make a time to come out and quote your house or business. It may be just a board, or it could be the sub floor, the roof void or the exterior of your house that you have a concern with.

Often people ask "Will one treatment be sufficient" and in regard to the sub floor and the roof void the answer is yes! Timber that is clean and dry and works like a sponge and is covered to the point of saturation. This kills the larvae which is the part of the insects life cycle that does the real damage to these areas. Once we have sprayed we give a 10 year warranty which can be added to your lim with the council so that if you ever sell your house there is a permanent record of its treatment.

Please note that all subfloor insulation must be removed before treatment, it is impossible to treat a timber service if it is covered, despite what you might have been told.

The Exterior of a House

There is no chemical on the market that will penetrate paint or varnish so therefore these areas need to be treated once a year for the next 3-4 years. What happens is when the adult emerges it normally walks to an old flight hole or crack n crevice and lays its eggs only for the eggs to go through that life cycle and continue to do damage to the timber. But once sprayed the adult emerges, takes a lethal dose and dies therefore stopping the eggs from being laid and the process continuing. However with the larvae living for up to 3 years we don’t know at what point it is in its life cycle, hence the recommendation of treating for the next 3-4 years.

Fabric Pests

Silverfish, case bearing moth, carpet beetle and hide beetle are all insects that can damage clothing and fabric. It is a relatively easy treatment to remove these insects but for it to be effective every drawer, cupboard and wardrobe needs to be open and the vacuum cleaner also needs to be left out.
